Location: Prescot
Salary: £22,700 – £25,300 per year + sleep-in payments
Hours: Part-time, permanent – 32 hours per week
Shifts: Flexible shifts including sleep-ins and occasional lone working
Shift Times: In line with the needs of the service, including sleep-in duties
Please note: You must have the right to live and work in the UK. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have previous experience working within Children’s Residential Care or Supported Accommodation.
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join a Supported Accommodation service in Prescot, supporting young people and helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adulthood.
This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Prescot, Liverpool, St Helens, Widnes, Warrington, Knowsley and surrounding areas.
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will support residents to develop independence, learn essential life skills and achieve positive outcomes.
You will build strong and positive relationships with young people, provide emotional support, manage challenging behaviours and encourage participation in education, recreational activities and local community initiatives.
The role will also involve supporting young people with day-to-day needs, maintaining appropriate records and ensuring the service operates in line with safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation and the home’s policies and procedures.
Requirements:

A positive, caring and compassionate approach to supporting young people

Previous experience working within Children’s Residential Care or Supported Accommodation

Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties

Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people

Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Understanding of relevant regulations and legislation relating to children’s services

Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
-
Ability to encourage independence and support young people to develop essential life skills

Ability to work independently and confidently when lone working
-
Strong communication and organisational skills

Ability to maintain accurate records and reports

Willingness to participate in sleep-in duties

Full UK driving licence

Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
