Senior Residential Care Worker – Children’s Services

Salary:
£33,500 – £35,000 including sleep-ins
Contract Type:
Full time – (Days, Evenings, Weekends, Bank Holidays)
Requirements
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- Must be over 21 years old
- Must hold a full clean driving licence and be a driver with a UK license
- Must be able to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Health & Social Care – children and young people pathway) and must have Level 3 in Children’s Residential
- Experience working in children’s residential care (minimum 1 year desirable)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s welfare
About the role
As a Senior Residential Care Worker in the Ofsted rating Outstanding home, you’ll take a lead role on shift, supporting and mentoring your team while providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people. You will help shape care plans, ensure the smooth daily operation of the home, and play a key role in driving quality and positive outcomes for every child in your care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating daily shift planning and care delivery
- Supporting staff and contributing to performance assessments
- Promoting safeguarding and maintaining a safe home environment
- Encouraging young people to engage in education, social, and community activities
- Supporting healthy lifestyles, including meal preparation and personal care
- Contributing to reports, plans, and risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with care regulations and health & safety guidelines
- Role modelling professional conduct and high standards of care
- Attending meetings and training sessions
- Transporting young people to appointments, education, and activities
