Registered Manager | Children’s Residential Home – EBD

Location: Stoke
Salary: £52,000 – £62,000 per year
Hours: Full-time, permanent – Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Shifts: Monday to Friday with flexibility required, including approximately 7–10 sleep-ins per month
Contract: Permanent

Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have previous experience working within a Children’s Residential Home or similar residential childcare setting. Applications are welcomed from experienced Registered Managers and strong Deputy Managers looking to progress into their first Registered Manager position.

About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and experienced Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed Children’s Residential Home in the Vale of Belvoir, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in their career. You will take responsibility for the overall management of the home, ensuring high-quality care, strong safeguarding practices and full regulatory compliance.

You will create a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can thrive, while leading and developing the staff team and driving positive outcomes for the children in your care.

This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Melton Mowbray, Grantham, Nottingham, Newark-on-Trent, Leicester, Loughborough and surrounding areas.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care required

  • Level 5 qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards this

  • Proven experience working within a Children’s Residential Home

  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex needs

  • Previous management or senior leadership experience within children’s residential care

  • Applications welcomed from strong Deputy Managers ready to step up into their first Registered Manager role

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children

  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a staff team effectively

  • Experience with staff recruitment, supervision and development

  • Ability to oversee individualised care plans, risk assessments and reviews

  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills

  • Ability to manage the day-to-day operation, resources and budget of the home

  • Confident working with social workers, families and external professionals

  • Resilient, organised and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people

  • Full UK manual driving licence

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

  • Flexibility required in line with the needs of the service

  • 169 contracted hours per month

  • Approximately 7–10 sleep-ins per month

  • Deputy Managers work a 2 on / 4 off rolling rota
