The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to take the lead on a brand-new 4-bed children’s residential home in the DN9 area of Doncaster.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to take ownership of a new service from the very beginning, including supporting the home through the registration and opening process. The home will support children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and will accommodate mixed genders.

You will be responsible for establishing high standards from day one, building and developing a strong staff team and creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for the young people living in the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home through the opening and registration process.

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home once operational.

  • Ensure the home provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and care.

  • Recruit, manage, support and develop the staff team.

  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.

  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

  • Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.

  • Monitor the quality of care and identify areas for continuous improvement.

  • Prepare the home and team for Ofsted inspection.

  • Work towards achieving a positive Ofsted outcome.

  • Ensure the home is fully prepared to provide high-quality care from opening.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within children’s residential care.

  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential legislation.

  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD.

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.

  • Excellent safeguarding knowledge.

  • Experience of managing or supporting the opening/registration of a children’s residential home would be advantageous.

  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People, or willingness to work towards this.

  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

Benefits

  • £54,080 basic salary.

  • Potential to earn up to £64,280 through Ofsted and occupancy bonuses.

  • £3,000 Ofsted bonus for an Outstanding rating.

  • £600 per month occupancy bonus.

  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays.

  • On-call payments of £25 on weekdays and £35 at weekends.
