Contract Type: Long-term placement | 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off | Start ASAP

About the Role:
We are seeking a calm, emotionally intelligent female live-in carer to support a client in the Southampton area.
This role is centred around building a genuine connection. Our client thrives on gentle companionship, reassurance, and a warm, calming presence. It is not simply task-based care—this is about enhancing quality of life and creating a comfortable, engaging environment.
In this role, you will:
- Provide personal care with dignity and respect
- Offer reassurance and emotional support
- Assist with light household duties and meal preparation (traditional British meals preferred)
- Encourage daily engagement through walks, conversation, and companionship
- Maintain accurate medication records using an app (blister packs provided)
- Communicate effectively with family and friends regarding routines and day-to-day updates
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred care tailored to the client’s individual needs
- Promote independence while ensuring safety and wellbeing
- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the client
- Maintain clear and accurate records of care provided
- Ensure a calm, comfortable, and well-managed home environment
Requirements:
Essential:
- Excellent spoken English and strong listening skills
- Previous live-in care experience
- Dementia awareness or experience supporting cognitive needs
- Strong emotional intelligence – patient, kind, and able to build trust
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Manual handling
- Catheter care
- Continence support
- Showering / personal care
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working with visually impaired individuals
- Experience supporting clients using oxygen therapy
