Location: Stoke
Salary: £33,000 – £34,000 per year
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Shifts: 2 on / 4 off rolling rota, including weekends and sleep-ins
Shift Times: In line with the needs of the service, covering 7 days per week
Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have previous experience working within a Children’s Residential Home or similar residential childcare setting. A full UK driving licence is required, with home vehicle use included.
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Deputy Manager to join a 3-bed Children’s Residential Home in Telford, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior or Deputy Manager, or someone with strong leadership potential who is ready to take their first step into a management position.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care. You will lead by example, support the care team and help create a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements:

Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care required

Level 5 qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards this

Previous experience working within a Children’s Residential Home is essential

Strong leadership potential and the ability to motivate and support a care team

Experience supporting children and young people with EBD or complex needs

Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and promoting children’s welfare

Ability to support the implementation of care plans and behavioural strategies
-
Ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with families, social workers and external professionals

Willingness to participate in sleep-in duties

Full UK driving licence required

Comfortable driving a home vehicle, predominantly manual transmission

Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
Working Pattern:
-
2 days on / 4 days off rolling rota

169 contracted hours per month
-
Approximately 7–10 sleep-ins per month

Shift pattern covers 7 days per week

Rotating 6-week schedule

Weekend working required as part of the rota
