Home: New 2-bed EBD children’s residential home, Walsall

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 DOE, plus performance-related package

Status: Permanent, full-time. Start date flexible for the right candidate

The role: Lead the home through Ofsted registration and the first inspection, build and develop the staff team, establish strong safeguarding, care planning and quality assurance systems, and create a positive culture from day one.
The candidate we’re looking for
-
An existing Ofsted Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up with the right support
-
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards this
-
Strong experience working with EBD, trauma and complex behaviours, with a clear understanding of trauma-informed practice

Previous experience contributing to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcome would be highly desirable

Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations

Confident managing Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes, safeguarding, care planning, risk assessments, monitoring and quality assurance

Understanding of safer recruitment, staff supervision, training and workforce development

Enhanced DBS and a full UK driving licence

Able to commute to Walsall and take ownership of the home through its registration and opening

You will have the opportunity to shape the home’s culture, recruit and develop your team, establish strong systems and processes, and ensure the service is fully prepared for Ofsted registration and inspection.
