Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Verwood

Salary: £37000- £47000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time (9–5, with additional hours as required)

Requirements

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Proven experience working in children’s residential care
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home in Verwood. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care, embedding the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) to support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of children and young people.

You will lead and inspire a staff team that understands the importance of emotional development, creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children feel valued and supported. Your leadership will ensure care is individualised, promoting resilience, trust, and positive outcomes for every child.

Job Description

As the Registered Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality care in line with all legislative and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted SCCIF, safeguarding standards, and organisational policies. You will promote equality, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice throughout the service.

You will have overall responsibility for the operational, HR, and financial management of the home, including staffing, rotas, admissions, health and safety, record-keeping, and reporting. You will support and develop your team to deliver care that prioritises emotional wellbeing, recovery from trauma, and positive life experiences for children.

The role also involves representing the organisation professionally with external agencies and contributing to continuous improvement and service development. Participation in the on-call rota and occasional shift cover will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all care regulations, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
  • Deliver and embed trauma-informed care using the PACE approach
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and management information
  • Lead, supervise, and develop staff, ensuring training and appraisal in trauma-informed practice
  • Manage rotas, budgets, recruitment, and disciplinary processes
  • Oversee admissions and discharges
  • Liaise with external professionals and agencies
  • Drive continuous improvement with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and outcomes for children
